The snippet from Google, what is that?

I write this post for a question which have already done me a few times and that is not another "what is that of the snippet from Google?". Many speak of the "google snippet" the more naturally in the world, because it is part of our day to day, but there are many people who wondered does snippet?, from google?, what is that?, how?, will with diesel or gasoline?. Better, as it usually start at the beginning, what is the snippet from Google? It is neither more nor less the set of elements (link + text + URL) that form a result page of google results. This is a snippet (what is under the search box):

Snippet de Google

Once we have clear what is a snippet at Google, we know that a Google search appear several in a page of results, and the following question tends to be, How is the snippet from Google, where are these texts formed? This is the anatomy of a normal today, snippet with a search made without login in Google and a clean session:

Snippet de Google. Anatomia

All that is shown in bold is because it coincides with the search terms that we have introduced to do the search, in this case "movies of the 80?."

However, the grace is to know of where Google takes the information to build the snippet, here are the main guidelines, but aren't the only ones or this is an exact science:

The text of the link to the web out of the labelthe majority of web sites are well placed and designed in each of its pages, although there are thousands of pages which link and title is the classic "Untitled Document". Let's say that in these cases someone did the duties. The two Description lines of what you'll find on the web that are going to go tend to leave the label if it is that the page has a label description, because If in the description of the label the words that we have introduced do not appear to do the search, the text will be replaced by another of the same page containing those words, as a general rule. Here there are also errors and historical failures, as that happened to the snippet of the web of Zara, which was indexed with test text, as you can see in this post of Joseba Umbelina. The web address is exactly that, the destination address of the page which corresponds the snippet, although it does not link to the web. This honor is for the title, the blue link.

If you want to know how many snippets of a web site you have Google, and that will therefore present in your search results pages, it is as simple as introducing "site: www. direcciondetusitioweb. com", a value that varies with the timeDepending on the content that you generate and, occasionally, of the marcianadas to make the great G.

And to put an end to the wonderful world of the snippet here you have the video that Matt Cutts explains how the snippet from Google, including the sitelinks, which are those "extras" that sometimes appear with the snippet of the first result of Google links:
